From May 17th to 18th, the opening ceremony of the Silk Road Tea Institute (SRTI) established by Guangxi Vocational & Technical College(GVTC) and Mae Fah Luang University(MFU) just finished. In accordance with building the Double High-levels Plan and the teaching curriculum of SRTI, the School of Agricultural Engineering established a vocational education lecture called the China-Thai Tea Flavor Cloud-Tasting Workshop of GVTC during the 8th vocational education week. The activity gathered students majoring in tea-related areas, tea professionals, and professors of 13 universities from Thailand, so as to deliver the Chinese tea culture and skills of tea tasting.
Under the invitation of the Tea and Coffee Institute of MFU, the activity was hosted by the two parties after several webinars and two-month preparation. It is mainly implemented by 7 tea professional lecturers from GVTC and focused on the tea evaluation and related standards, green tea tasting, black tea tasting, oolong tea tasting, and skills of tea making.
The workshop has attracted the attention of people from all walks of life in Thailand. On the offline site of MFU, many people, such as professors and students, as well as beverage manufacturers, tea providers, and tea lovers, gathered together. They were all concentrated on how to make tea via the Internet.
The workshop has been well received by the participants. It has opened a door for tea experts, scholars, students, and the tea industry in Thailand to understand the Chinese tea culture and China, and promote the culture to spread outside China. The China-Thai Tea Flavor Cloud-Tasting Workshop has also greatly enhanced the international influence of GVTC.
