Building an international brand for vocational education, promoting the cultivation of undergraduate

On May 16th, the day of the launch ceremony of the 2023 Vocational Education Week, the School of Agriculture and Engineering organized featured vocational education activitiesincluded the "Silk Road Tea Culture Masterclass" and the "Silk Road Tea Institution Tea Expert Workshop" in accordance with the international exchange activity schedule of the "Silk Road Tea Institution" for the first half of the yearand combine with the actual work progress of internationalization construction of the "Double High-levelmajor group of Tea Tree Cultivation and Tea Leaf Processing.

 

On the morning of 16th, Professor Thida Win, former President of Mandalay University in Myanmar, was invited by our college to deliver an online Silk Road Tea Culture Masterclass to the teachers and students from the major group of Tea Tree Cultivation and Tea Leaf Processing. Professor Thida Win currently serves as a director of Myanmar Shwenataung Tea Co.Ltd. and the Head of Research and Development of Myanmar U Kar Ka Tea Co.Ltd. She is dedicated to tea product innovation, tea standards development, and organic tea cultivation in Myanmar.

 

During the lectureProfessor Thida Win shared relevant knowledge about "Myanmar Tea". She started by introducing the development of the tea industry in Myanmar and then provided detailed information on the history of Myanmar tea, tea cultivation and processing techniques, the production of the unique Myanmar tea Laphet So, as well as the chemical composition analysis of this tea. At the same time, she also introduced the current research and development status of Laphet So tea, providing our teachers and students with a comprehensive and systematic understanding of Myanmar tea.

In the afternoon of that day, the "Silk Road Tea Institution Tea Expert Workshop", which also called "Serial Lectures on Chinese Tea -Green Tea Processing and Sensory Evaluation" were held as scheduled. This special training on green tea processing was jointly organized at the invitation of the Uva Wellassa University, Sri Lanka, through multiple online discussions and over a month of intense preparation by both schools.

Three tea experts from the school of Agriculture and Engineering of our school provided customized training for one month to the faculty and students of Uva Wellassa University in Sri Lanka. These training cover topics such as Mechanized Green Tea ProcessingHandmade Green Tea, and Green Tea Sensory Evaluation.

This event has enriched the content of the Vocational Education Week and fully showcased the phased achievements in international cooperation and exchange construction of the Double High-levels Plan Tea Cultivation and Tea Processing major of our school. This event also has great significance in enhancing the influence of our college's vocational education and promoting the cultivation of undergraduate vocational education.
