On the morning of March 20, a delegation from the University College of Agroscience Malaysia visited our college. The two sides held discussions on cooperation in agricultural vocational education and toured the college’s teaching and training bases. TANG Weidong, together with leaders and faculty representatives from the International Education College and the School of Agricultural Engineering, attended the symposium.

The University College of Agroscience Malaysia is a private higher education institution established by RISDA, a Malaysian rural development agency. Its predecessor was RISDA College, founded in 1999, and it was upgraded to university college status in 2014. The institution focuses on talent cultivation in agriculture and plantation-related fields.

At the symposium, both sides watched the college’s promotional video. TANG Weidong introduced the college’s history, program features, and achievements in international cooperation and exchange. He noted that in recent years, the college has established cooperative relationships with institutions in a number of ASEAN countries, and expressed hope that the two sides would achieve resource sharing in the areas of industry–education integration and school–enterprise cooperation, and jointly explore new models of international collaboration.

Rossly, President of the University College of Agroscience Malaysia, proposed deepening cooperation between the two institutions through the Malaysia–China Industry–Education International Cooperation Center (MCI) project. He suggested launching joint programs such as dual-diploma education, short-term training, and reciprocal visits and exchanges for teachers and students. He also stated that the university planned to send a delegation of teachers and students to the college in April 2025 for a 14-day “Chinese + Vocational Skills” training program, and expressed hope that the college would provide the necessary support and assistance. The two sides then held further discussions on cooperation details.

During the visit, the delegation toured the college’s science and technology exhibition hall, the Guangxi Tea Museum, the tea competition skills training venue, the Modern Tea Engineering Center, and the Craftsmanship Garden.

The visit by the delegation from the University College of Agroscience Malaysia laid a solid foundation for the next stage of cooperation between the two institutions. Both sides agreed to make full use of their respective strengths in agricultural and tea industry education resources, actively explore cooperation pathways such as joint curriculum development, mutual recognition of academic credentials, and teacher and student exchanges, and jointly promote the coordinated development of agricultural vocational education.
