To implement the college’s internationalization strategy and promote practical cooperation with Indonesia in vocational education, a five-member delegation led by Vice President LIN Song visited Indonesia from November 17 to 20, 2025. During the visit, the delegation toured the Indonesian Research Institute for Tea and Cinchona (IRITC) and Maitreyawira School Jakarta, and held a series of exchanges focusing on the joint development of the Silk Road Tea Institute, international research collaboration, student recruitment and promotion, and the Chinese language volunteer program.

On November 18, the delegation visited the Indonesian Research Institute for Tea and Cinchona (IRITC). The two sides held a symposium on the joint development of the Silk Road Tea Institute and engaged in in-depth discussions on curriculum development, joint standards development, collaborative research, and talent development. During the meeting, Lin Song reviewed the fruitful results achieved since the signing of the memorandum of understanding in 2022, particularly in areas such as joint training programs and international forums. He expressed the hope that the visit would serve as an opportunity to further deepen cooperation in tea science and technology, joint talent cultivation, and international projects, thereby contributing to the building of a China–ASEAN community with a shared future.

At the symposium, the head of the School of Agricultural Engineering delivered a presentation titled “Guangxi Tea for Wellness and Healthy Living.” During the visit, the delegation also toured the institute’s tea gardens, product exhibition hall, and processing workshops for white tea and specialty teas, gaining deeper insights into its practical experience in tea cultivation, processing, and technology promotion.

On November 19, the delegation visited Maitreyawira School Jakarta, where it delivered an admissions briefing for studying in China and held discussions on the implementation of the 2026 Chinese language volunteer program in Indonesia. LIN Song introduced the college’s unique strengths and its international talent cultivation model integrating “Chinese language + vocational skills,” and welcomed Indonesian students to pursue further studies at Guangxi Vocational and Technical College. He noted that the college has built a solid foundation for cooperation with Indonesian educational institutions. In particular, the Chinese language volunteer program jointly implemented with the Palembang Happy Culture and Education Foundation in Indonesia has continued to expand in scale and has become an important bridge for cultural and language exchange between students from both sides.

During the event, representatives from the International Education College and relevant academic schools and departments introduced the progress in building the college’s “Study at GVTC” brand and shared the distinctive strengths of related programs. The delegation also visited Sekolah Harapan Bangsa in Jakarta and the Jakarta Nature and Culture World Talent Development Education Base, where discussions were held on people-to-people exchange and cooperation initiatives.

This visit effectively advanced the joint development of the Silk Road Tea Institute, expanded the college’s student recruitment channels in Indonesia, and laid a solid foundation for further strengthening the Chinese language volunteer program. In the future, the college will continue to leverage platforms such as the China–Thailand Intelligent Manufacturing Modern Craftsman Academy and the Silk Road Tea Institute to build a cross-regional collaborative development network, foster a new landscape of international education featuring resource sharing and joint talent cultivation, and contribute to the training of high-quality technical and skilled professionals with a global vision.
